Planning permission has been granted for a new Ticket Office to be built at the eastern entrance to the Botanic Garden on Station Road. The new structure will replace the current Ticket Office, which is not adequate for welcoming the huge numbers of visitors (around 350,000) that the Garden attracts each year.
The new Ticket Office will offer an inviting space where visitors can purchase tickets, gather information and engage with staff members. It will include public, accessible toilets, including a changing places toilet. Increased storage facilities for wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters will also allow more support for less mobile visitors.
Work will begin at the end of this year, aiming for completion by summer 2025.
