The University of Cambridge has welcomed the approval of its outline planning application for the future phases of Eddington, paving the way for thousands of new homes and the continued, sustainable growth of the established North West Cambridge neighbourhood.
Future phases will deliver affordable homes for University key workers, student accommodation, employment space and more than 50 hectares of green and open space.
- Up to 3,800 new homes, including 50% affordable housing for University key workers will relieve pressure on the city’s wider housing market
- Accommodation for up to 1,675 students and up to 100,000m² of employment space
- More than one third of the development retained as green and open space
I am delighted to welcome this decision, which represents an important milestone for Eddington and for the long-term future of Cambridge.
