Facilities Management operates the centrally controlled cleaning contracts, which include windows and premises. The aim of these contracts is to achieve a consistent approach to cleaning. We have therefore engaged innovative cleaning contractors who will work with the University to identify efficiencies which can be used to improve standards, without necessarily increasing our costs, and achieve better economies of scale.
If you would like further information please contact Facilities Management.
In partnership with Environment and Energy, Estates Facilities has tendered the non-hazardous waste contract and have included all current recycling streams and are introducing 3 new streams. These are Food waste, pallets and glass. The new contract which commenced on the 1st July 2016 will recycle all our waste and the non-recyclable residue from this will then go in to the energy from waste (EFW). If you would like further information, please contact Facilities Management.
For more information on the other waste streams, for example batteries and printer cartridges, go to http://www.environment.admin.cam.ac.uk/recyclingAtoZ.
