Based on the New Museums Site, Central Sites Technical Services (CSTS) are The University of Cambridge’s dedicated AV team. We provide audio visual support to the centrally timetabled lecture theatres and rooms including;
The Babbage Lecture Theatre, Lady Mitchell Hall, Little Hall, Cockcroft and Biffen lecture theatres as well as the lecture rooms in Mill Lane, Sidgwick Site and Arts School. CSTS also provide technical support to The University Centre, Alison Richards Building, The Old Schools and the Entrepreneurship Centre.
In addition we are able to offer the following audio visual services (charges may apply):-
Video Production & Audio Recording
CSTS provide an Audio and Video Recording Service to all departments and colleges. We are able to record lectures, conferences, interviews, meetings and other special events. We have High Definition cameras and equipment which can provide a simple single camera shoot or a multiple camera shoot depending on your budget and requirements.
We have worked on events such as The University of Cambridge Science Festival and The Darwin College Lecture Series. Examples of our work can be found in our Streaming Media Service Collection.
Video & Audio Editing and Post Production
We have a full editing suite where we carry out post production work. We can edit multiple cameras, add presentation material and titles to produce a professionally finished DVD or high definition media file for upload to the web.
Technical Support for Lectures, Conferences & Events
Our larger venues, such as The Babbage and Lady Mitchell hall may often require additional technical support. CSTS can be on hand to make your event run smoothly, by monitoring microphone levels, stage lighting or even projecting a stage video feed on to the theatres screen for demonstrations.
Service & Maintenance of AV Equipment and Installed Systems
CSTS are able to carry out preventative maintenance to AV systems. This includes cleaning of air filters for data projectors and lamp replacement for data, slide and overhead projectors. We check operation of other video and audio equipment including assessment of induction hearing loop systems.
AV Equipment Hire
We keep a range of AV equipment available for hire within the University’s premises. These include slide, overhead and data projectors, LCD display monitors, portable public address systems, microphones, digital audio recorders and laptops.
Copying & Transfer of AV material
Copying and transferring of audio and video recordings, such as cassette and VHS onto new formats such as DVD, CD or a digital media file can be made within our workshops using our editing suites.
